Council Priorities

The Retooling and Economic Recovery Council is focused on providing its members with the most up-to-date information, support and guidance on navigating the COVID-19 Pandemic.  The Council has three priority areas.

PREVENTION

The RERC aims to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by ensuring the nuclear supply chain has access to the operational experience and best practices used by the industry in confronting the pandemic. We look forward to providing more information on the measures that industry-leading experts are taking as well as up-to-date information on the best guidance and principles to keep the industry health and safe.

RETOOLING

The RERC is here to assist companies to retool their operations or expand their manufacturing capacity in order to meet the challenging needs for PPE and other critical medical equipment. Nuclear Supply Chain companies have been leading the way but there is still more work to be done. In the near future we will be including additional information about retooling operations that are currently underway. To find out about future opportunities for retooling and understand the emerging needs for PPE, we encourage you to join the council.

ECONOMIC RECOVERY

Emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic, Ontario’s nuclear supply chain stands well positioned to lead the nation in supporting economic recovery. The RERC is set up to prioritize projects that will enhance our country’s recovery. The RERC is here to support companies in the process of reopening their businesses to boost our economy. Here we will be sharing information about opportunities to expedite projects, along with the necessary resources that will connect you with industry-wide initiatives.
